Angel’s journey reflects the impact that access to education can create when the right support is in place. With the support of a CCEF scholarship, Angel is building skills, growing confidence, and creating a clear future in design.

Before studying at Chisholm, Angel was seeking employment with little experience while raising her child. With a tight household budget, the cost of study felt out of reach, and the opportunity to build a more secure future remained uncertain.

Despite these challenges, Angel was motivated to develop her artistic strengths and pursued a course aligned with her interests. Returning to study after time away, she began by building her confidence through the Certificate II and Certififcate III in General Education for Adults. These qualifications developed critical literacy and numeracy skills, providing a strong foundation and establishing a practical pathway towards future employment.

During her studies, Angel applied for and received a Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation scholarship. This support eased financial pressure and gave her the confidence to continue. With this stability, Angel progressed into her chosen field of art and design, successfully completing a Certificate II in Printing and Graphic Arts and a Certificate IV in Design, building a strong foundation for her creative career.

Throughout her time at Chisholm, Angel also formed meaningful connections within the community. Studying has provided more than a qualification for Angel; it has strengthened her confidence and equipped her with practical skills to pursue a creative career.

Today, Angel has secured employment and sees her future differently. She is continuing her study pathway and preparing to undertake a Diploma of Graphic Design. What once felt out of reach is now clearly achievable. With a focus on completing her studies, Angel is working towards a career in the design industry, with the ambition to tell stories through her creative work and create new opportunities for herself and her family.

The scholarship played a key role in this journey by improving access to education, reducing barriers, and enabling Angel to focus on developing her capability. What was once uncertain is now a defined and achievable pathway.
