During her time at Chisholm, Jessica completed a Diploma of Graphic Design (CUA50720) and an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design with the support of a Chisholm scholarship, that she describes as the starting point of her professional journey.

After graduating from her courses at Chisholm, Jessica went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Communication Design, followed by a Master of Teaching. This study pathway ultimately led her to a career as a design teacher in secondary education.

Jessica now teaches middleyear students aged 13 to 15, covering a mix of design disciplines including textiles, visual communication design and product design — a role she genuinely loves. Jessica now applies the practical skills and industry knowledge gained through her vocational training to her teaching every day, a testament to how foundational that experience was in preparing her for a career that now impacts young learners.

Reflecting on the support she received, Jessica expressed deep gratitude to donors, saying the scholarship made a significant impact on the direction of her career. Receiving support throughout her study journey allowed Jessica to build the confidence and skills she needed to pursue further education and eventually enter the teaching profession.

Jessica now enjoys a fulfilling career in education, giving back to others by sharing her passion for design with the next generation and helping students discover their own creative potential.
